Accreditation Plan

A new fire risk assessment certification scheme was officially launched last month and we are looking to be one of the first organisations to gain it.

The BAFE SP205 Life Safety Fire Risk Assessment Scheme has been developed for organisations which provide fire risk assessment services. This scheme is designed to give assurance to those commissioning fire risk assessments and give confidence in the quality and relevance of the services being provided.

This Scheme recognises the importance of providing fire risk assessments that comply with an acceptable set of criteria. There are currently four Certification Bodies approved by BAFE Council to go forward to seek UKAS accreditation.

Speaking at the launch event in London on 30 May, BAFE chairman Phil Toase said:
“Development of independent schemes to ensure quality of fire protection and fire safety in the built environment has always been close to my heart.
“I have seen the misery and disruption caused by fire and I believe the wider fire community has a duty to ensure that everything possible is done to minimise these catastrophic effects. Third party certification ensures that independent bodies regularly assess the competence of companies to deliver their services.”

We have locked Dale Williams away in a cupboard to ensure each aspect of our business meets the benchmark set down by BAFE SP205 and will keep you updated as things progress.
