Partnership is Checkmate for Fire Safety

Partnership is Checkmate for Fire Safety

We have recently established a working partnership with Checkmate.

Checkmate is a specialist passive fire protection installation & survey company, providing professionally managed, cost effective fire compliance services nationally to a wide range of clients.

Checkmate provide surveys of compartmentation and can repair/make good any issues identified. The Safety Management (UK) Audit Team was very impressed with Checkmate when meeting them, particularly with regard to their level of knowledge and facilities available. The opportunity to work in partnership seemed the logical way forward.

The benefit of a joint partnership approach is that Checkmate can provide evidence of compartmentation issues and third-party certification where this is required and SMUK can provide a fire risk assessment incorporating their conclusions. This is an all-encompassing service for customers requiring an assessment of this type.

Brian Gregory, MD, said: 'When undertaking fire risk assessments, understanding the compartmentation and fire separation in a building is key. This can be a costly mistake on new-build commercial and social housing properties if the compartmentation is not confirmed professionally before the takeover of the building.'

SMUK are currently looking at a joint working solution with Checkmate and a large client on some new build blocks. The partnership with Checkmate is already proving beneficial to both companies and looks very promising for the future.
